Kolarov: 'Four more years'

Roma left-back Aleksandar Kolarov says he is in tune with Paulo Fonseca’s approach to football and that he will play on for "another four years".

The Serbian was talking to reporters ahead of the Gran Gala awards in Milan, where he is up for the title of last season’s best defender.

“I like [Fonseca’s] idea of football, how he interprets the game. He explains to us that we have to play with determination.”

Kolarov is 34 years old but seems to be enjoying an Indian summer at Roma, so how much longer will he keep on playing?

“I can play for another four years. Every player must challenge themselves and show they are always willing to improve.

“Three years ago I convinced myself I could do well at Roma, and now I am convinced I can do even better.”

Kolarov has made 109 appearances and scored 16 goals for the Giallorossi in all competitions since joining from Manchester City in 2017.
