It sparks further life into the rumours of a return to Italian football for the striker after his struggles at Everton, having previously been linked with moves to Roma and Milan.

The 19-year-old moved to Goodison Park from Juventus last summer, in a transfer worth €27.5m plus bonuses, but he has yet to score after 11 appearances for the Toffees.

Kean has started just twice in the Premier League and appears to fit the bill for Bologna, who are in the market for a new forward.

The Rossoblu were at one point favourites for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the veteran seems to be all set for a second spell at Milan.

Kean scored six goals for Juve last season and netted twice for Italy back in March.
