SPAL coach Leonardo Semplici could be fired if he doesn’t get a good result against Roma on Sunday, with Beppe Iachini reportedly lined up.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, SPAL only gave their tactician a temporary reprieve and are considering their options.

That includes contacting former Sassuolo and Udinese boss Iachini to check for his availability.

Another candidate would be ex-Genoa coach Davide Ballardini.

If there should be a heavy defeat to Roma on Sunday, then Semplici could be given the boot after several years at the helm, having taken the club from Serie C1 to the top flight.

SPAL are currently bottom of the Serie A table on nine points from 15 rounds.
