Former Milan star Mark van Bommel has been sacked as head coach of Dutch club PSV.

PSV announced this morning that Van Bommel had been relieved of his duties.

It comes after a 3-1 defeat to Feyenoord, which left the Eindhoven side 10 points behind Eredivisie leaders Ajax in fourth place.

The 42-year-old played 50 games for Milan after moving from Bayern Munich in January 2011 and helped the Rossoneri to their last Scudetto.

He returned to manage PSV in the summer of 2018 and guided them to a runners-up finish in the Eredivisie last season.
