Fresh from the Supercoppa Italiana victory over Juventus on December 22, the Aquile picked up where they left off to start 2020 on a high.

They fought back from a goal down to beat 10-man Brescia 2-1 at the Stadio Rigamonti with an Immobile brace.

It is Lazio’s ninth consecutive Serie A success, a streak only ever achieved by Sven-Goran Eriksson in 1998-99.

The Biancocelesti have scored at least two goals in each of their last 12 Serie A games, the longest streak ever apart from Il Grande Torino’s 13 in 1948.

Immobile’s brace means he is the first player to reach 19 Serie A goals in his first 17 games of the season since Antonio Valentin Angelillo in January 1959.
