Inter are on red alert after manager Frank Lampard confirmed Olivier Giroud could leave Chelsea in the January transfer window.

The 33-year-old has made only two starts this season and remained on the bench throughout today’s FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

“There’s no update on Ollie, but I’ve spoken with him,” Lampard told Sky Sports UK.

“If the conditions are that it’s something he really wants to do and it works for the club, for me and the squad, then it’s something that could happen.

“But only when all of those bases are covered. So we’ll see if we’re there.”

Inter have long been linked with Giroud, who moved from Arsenal to Chelsea in January 2018 for €17m.

It means he played 18 games under Antonio Conte, scoring five goals with three assists.

His contract is due to expire in June and a renewal seems increasingly unlikely.
