The Viola travel to the San Paolo to face the Partenopei tomorrow, with kickoff at 19:45 GMT, and Iachini doesn’t want any excuses despite playing in the Coppa Italia midweek.
“We won against Atalanta with the same recovery time as we have now going into the Napoli game,” Iachini told the official Fiorentina website.
“Napoli had the opportunity to rest more but we must work and not create alibis. We must recover as much energy as possible to face an opponent who are well organised and is playing well.
“Rino Gattuso’s work is clear and we must be focused and attentive.”
Asked on his opinion of Gattuso, Iachini reiterated that the former Milan player is thorough.
“We’ve met as coaches, he is very prepared and I am convinced that he arrived at Napoli in a difficult time.
“The team must know you and it takes time and work to bring ideas on to the pitch. Napoli have chosen an excellent coach and he must continue on his own path of growth.”
