CONI President Giovanni Malago says he doesn’t know soon-to-be Roma owner Dan Friedkin personally, but believes the Texan is “a long-term investor, not a speculator.”

The Friedkin Group, of which Dan Friedkin is the CEO and founder, is on the verge of taking control of the Giallorossi after months of neogotiations and due diligence being performed.

"I don’t know if Friedkin will buy Roma, I don’t know him personally but I know some people who are close to him,” Malago said at a forum organised by the Roman news agency.

“They tell me that he is a long-term investor, and not a speculator.”

It’s reported that the Friedkin’s takeover of Roma will cost in excess of €780m.
