Genoa have officially purchased defender Andrea Masiello from Atalanta on a permanent basis.
The centre-back turns 34 next week and had been with Atalanta since the summer of 2011.
This represents a return to Genoa, as Masiello was already at Marassi from 2007 to 2008.
He had also been approached by Sampdoria, but opted for the Grifone, who are currently joint bottom of the table with Brescia and SPAL.
Masiello had dropped down the pecking order in Bergamo this season, making only 12 competitive appearances.
