Romelu Lukaku admits it is “a fascinating battle at the top” between Inter, Juventus and Lazio for the Scudetto after their win over Udinese.

The Belgian bagged a brace at the Dacia Arena for the 2-0 victory, meaning he is the first player in the era of three points for a win to score 12 goals in his first 11 Serie A away fixtures.

“I think the Coppa Italia game against Fiorentina provided the spark we needed. We knew it was not going to be easy against Udinese, but we scored two goals and it’s important for the season,” Lukaku told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a fascinating battle at the top, it’s good for us to be up there too and we have a huge clash with Milan coming up. They are doing well at the moment and I hope we continue winning.”

Lukaku was a real leader before and during the match, giving 17-year-old Sebastiano Esposito a pep-talk and discussing with Antonio Conte on the touchline.

“I just think I am a player who wants to do well for the team. It’s very important for me that the team is all on the same page, so I try to send out positive vibes.”
