Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul says he wants to play in the Champions League again, but he “found it difficult to manage transfer speculation.”

De Paul has been constantly linked with a move away from the Zebrette for the last several seasons, but so far it hasn’t materialised.

“It’s been like this for a couple of years now. At first I found it difficult, now I manage the situation better,” De Paul told Tuttosport.

“My teammates tease me, bringing me the newspapers and telling me where I’ve been sold to.

“When you train and when the ball spins, you forget everything.”

De Paul was asked if he would like to be coached by Inter coach Antonio Conte.

“It’s clear that I’d like to be coached by all of the best coaches. By the way, [Luca] Gotti is one of the best coaches I’ve ever had.”

The Argentine says a clear objective of his is to return to playing Champions League football.

“I say it calmly, I don’t want to always stay at the same level. I played in the Champions League at 19 with Valencia, and I want to get back to it.

“I want to go to a World Cup and I want to try and win the Copa America in June.

“Then, in the summer, we will talk about everything else.”
