Emilio De Leo focused only on Bologna ahead of a “tough game” on Friday night and said the Rossoblu “will have to be resilient” against Roma.

Bologna are currently 11th in Serie A and arrive in the capital after back-to-back wins against SPAL and Brescia.

De Leo said he expects Bologna will have to “use all our resources” to have a chance against Paulo Fonseca’s men tomorrow.

“They’re certainly a great team,” he said at a press conference. “They have done great work to cope without their absentees.

“We have to focus on our own performance, without thinking about our defects. We know it will be a tough game, we will have to use all our resources, be resilient, demonstrate that we’ve made a leap in the management of difficult moments.”

Bologna will side a young team tomorrow, but De Leo has claimed they are “showing maturity”.

“I think they are ready, something they have demonstrated many times up until now,” he said. “They’ve had a gradual and constant growth. They have shown that they have clear ideas and are maturing along the way. They are growing also as people outside of the pitch.”

Musa Barrow looks certain to play against the Giallorossi, but Nicola Dominguez could also get the nod at the Olimpico.

“Musa is developing well, he has created a bond with his new teammates,” De Leo added. “Thanks to the work of [Atalanta coach Gian Piero] Gasperini, he is very aware of what’s happening on the pitch.

“We ask him to complete a job in both phases of the game, he is working on it and making himself available to improve.

“There are great expectations [for Dominguez], but from our perspective we met an eclectic lad, who has clear ideas and he could become a fundamental resource for our group. He will surely come in handy in Rome.

“He probably needs a gradual path of growth within our system.”

De Leo revealed that Mihajlovic wants the players to continue along the “same path” and not “get lost in the difficulties” they are facing.

“Continue on the same path,” he said. “The mentality of the team has changed. Now we can’t get lost in the difficulties and we must maintain our identity.

“They’re a group that never look for alibis or justifications and know that it can only rely on their own quality.”
