“This was a vital match for us and by no means a simple situation,” Ranieri told Sky Sport Italia.

“We played well, although perhaps could’ve been more practical in the first half. We conceded on the first real Torino scoring opportunity, but fortunately this is a team accustomed to reacting to negative situations.

“When we lost 4-2 to Napoli, it’s because we were too eager to win it after managing to equalise. These are three deserved points and we must continue with that determination.

Ramirez bagged a brace, including a spectacular free kick from the edge of the box into the top corner.

“I’ve had many great free kick takers in my squads, for one Gianfranco Zola,” said Ranieri. “This type of player really raises the quality level of the whole team. When Ramirez is physically fit, he plays for his teammates and creates goals for everyone. He showed the full skillset this evening.”
