Bologna have won their last three consecutive games and De Leo says starting this game as the favourite isn’t a problem.

“We will focus on our performance, if we face closed and compact teams we’ll act accordingly,” said De Leo in his press conference.

“We will focus on the game against Genoa and if it gets complicated we will try to use our weapons. We’ve never looked at our opponents, we will keep our feet on the ground and move ahead with humility.”

Musa Barrow has made quite the impact since arriving from Atalanta, and the young striker scored twice against Roma last weekend.

“We are surprised by his calmness. From a tactics standpoint he is ready and has worked well in recent seasons.

“Our players have also been very good at welcoming him, he has put himself forward in the right way, and I hope he retains his humility.”

Genoa have improved under Davide Nicola since replacing Thiago Motta, and De Leo expects a difficult match.

“They’ve found the right path and Nicola immediately found the right key to utilise the team. They have a complete squad and the group is effective.

“They are very good at being compact and closing down spaces. They've come from an important victory last weekend and they want to follow that up.

“We will need the support of the fans to give us a big hand and I hope that our technical qualities will come out.”

De Leo then gave an update on several of Bologna’s players.

“Barrow and Riccardo Orsolini will be evaluated after the last training session. They have worked well during the week.

“Roberto Soriano is coming from a deep bruise suffered against Roma. He’s trained separately and he will also be evaluated today.

“We do however have different solutions. Mattias Svanberg, Nico Dominguez and Andreas Skov Olsen can replace him. We are covered in that area.”
