Marotta has been an admirer of the 24-year-old for a while, and tried to bring him to Juventus.
However, Inter reportedly face competition from Chelsea and French behemoths Paris Saint-Germain for Milinkovic-Savic.
The French champions reportedly made a bid last summer, but Lazio President Claudio Lotito rejected the €60m offer.
It’s believed that Lotito’s asking price for the midfielder is set at €80m.
