The defender replaced Leonardo Bonucci in the 77th minute of today’s game against Brescia to a standing ovation from the Bianconeri fans.

Pjanic meanwhile faces a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury.

The Bosnian, who came on as a substitute, had only been on the pitch for seven minutes when he fell to the turf holding his groin.

He was immediately taken off for Blaise Matuidi.

Pjanic is expected to undergo medical tests to assess the severity of the injury, but the midfielder could miss out on a return to old side Lyon in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16.
