The Partenopei got off on the wrong foot this term and are currently working to get back on track under Gennaro Gattuso.

Meanwhile, Ancelotti has transformed Everton into a candidate for the Europa League next season, but he is still adamant that they were right about parting ways at the San Paolo.

“Things are going well. I didn’t need to be regenerated, I felt fine in Naples too,” Ancelotti told Rai Uno. “In football you are judged by the results and they weren’t at the squad’s level.

“The decision was made in agreement and it was the right one, I am better, and Napoli are better. I don’t want to talk about my adventure in Azzurro.

“Napoli was a wonderful experience, I met players and people who were working with me. The city remains there and waits for me to have my holidays there.”

Napoli are currently eight in Serie A, two points behind Hellas Verona at sixth and are preparing for their first meeting with Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League and a return leg at home against Inter in the Coppa Italia.
