Hans Hateboer was named Man of the Match after his brace in Atalanta’s 4-1 win over Valencia. “I was the only one left who hadn’t scored!”

The Dutchman not only broke his goal duck for the season, he found the net twice in the Champions League Round of 16.

“When (Jose Luis) Palomino scored last week, I knew I was the only one left who hadn’t found the net, so I’m glad I got there now!” Hateboer told Sky Sport Italia.

Atalanta have scored 10 Champions League goals with nine different players this season, more than any other team.

“It was a very difficult game, we saw how strong and quick Valencia are in attack, which caused problems for us at the back.

“However, we score goals and we got four of them this evening, while it could’ve been more.”

The second leg will be in Valencia on March 10.

“We know it’ll be tough in the atmosphere of the Mestalla, but we go there with a 4-1 lead.”
