Juventus decided to extend Blaise Matuidi’s contract until June 2021, but the France international could still leave the Allianz Stadium this summer.
The Corriere dello Sport claims that the Old Lady triggered an option in his current deal to make sure the 32-year-old doesn’t leave for free this summer.
His current deal is set to expire this summer but the Bianconeri has an option to automatically renew his contract until June 2021.
The midfielder came to Turin from Paris Saint-Germain and the newspaper writes that the World Cup winner could be used to create some additional funds in their hunt for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali and Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Matuidi has played 22 games in Serie A this term and has been a vital member for the league leaders also under Maurizio Sarri, but Corriere dello Sport writes that Juventus are still willing to listen to offers from possible suitors.
