Cagliari President Tommaso Giulini has hit out at Italy’s Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora in the midst of the on going Coronavirus crisis. “He’s gone from asking for the matches to be shown on free TV to suspending the league.”

The Rossoblu chief took to Twitter and slammed Spadafora’s decision making over the last several days in light of the crisis that has seen most of northern Italy shut down due to the disease.

“The Minister has gone from asking for the free transmission of the games to suspending the league,” said Giulini on his official Twitter account.

“And in the middle making a decree that makes us play behind closed doors! Now Italy needs calm and seriousness, not populist proclamations.”

Meanwhile, Spadafora himself has also commented on the resumption of Serie A today.

“I don’t agree with the decision of the Lega to play,” Spadafora told Rai.

“The health emergency won’t be over in the next few days, but only with everyone’s responsibility.

“There could be consequences for the league, but football will resume as good as before when everything is over.”
