Mario Balotelli reveals Francesco Totti never apologised to him for his Coppa Italia Final kick and confirms ‘I’m happy at Brescia, I don’t want to leave’.

Inter beat Roma 1-0 to win the 2009-10 Coppa, but the clash was overshadowed by Totti being shown a straight red for booting Balotelli from behind.

Despite the incident, the Italy striker insists there has never been any bad blood between him and the No 10, even if he still has not received an apology.

“If I really had something against him, I would’ve told him,” he said during an Instagram Live broadcast.

“At that moment, I realised I wasn’t the problem. He committed a bad foul, he took the red: what else should I tell him? In that game, he suffered the consequences.

“He hasn’t apologised to me in years gone by, but the problem wasn’t me: I wasn’t his target.

“He had other problems in that game. I didn’t even have it in for him. I remember hugging him after the season ended. He made a mistake and paid for it.

“There was no need to apologise at the time.”

The 29-year-old has been linked with moves away from Brescia, who look like dropping into Serie B, but he shot down the speculation.

“I’m happy at Brescia and I don’t want to leave. Brescia is my city and I’m at a great club with a bunch of fantastic guys and extraordinary fans.

“We’ve struggled this season, but it happens in football. We wanted to do better, but the season proved tough for us.”
