Barcelona cannot afford Inter star Lautaro Martinez and are struggling to get anything done on the transfer market, claims Mundo Deportivo.

While the Blaugrana never even attempted to hide their pursuit of Martinez, the fact remains he has a contract with Inter and release clause set at €111m.

The Nerazzurri have no intention of selling for less than that, although they could conceivably accept €90m cash plus a player to reach that figure.

Now Mundo Deportivo pundit Francesc Aguilar warns the situation is far worse, because Barcelona are nowhere near able to afford Lautaro Martinez right now.

The issue is not only that they have been hit by the pandemic and lockdown, but also the immense difficulty in selling players.

Juventus know all about that, having tried and failed to convince Arthur Melo to leave Camp Nou in an exchange deal with Miralem Pjanic.

Arturo Vidal, Ousmane Dembele and more are all reticent to part with Barcelona, making it very tricky for them to get fresh funds for the transfer market.
