Milan are reportedly attempting a new approach for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic, taking him on a two-year loan with option to buy.

According to OK Diario in Spain and Calciomercato.it in Italy, the idea would be similar to the one that allowed them to sign Ante Rebic from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rebic is a key figure in the whole affair, as he is urging his old Eintracht teammate to reunite with him at San Siro.

Jovic has struggled since the €60m transfer to Real Madrid last summer, managing just two goals in 24 competitive appearances.

He also recently fractured his foot, which is an additional complication for the 22-year-old Serbia international.

The forward is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2025, but Radio Rossonera point out there is another obstacle in the form of his salary.

If Jovic was ready to accept a pay cut, then the loan move to Milan could potentially go through.
