Serie B is officially back, as Cremonese secured a 3-1 win away to Ascoli in the rescheduled Week 25 fixture, albeit with two own goals.

Serie A does not return until Saturday, but the outstanding Serie B match from February 22 was played this evening behind closed doors at the Stadio Del Duca.

It was the debut for new Ascoli coach Guillermo Abascal, who was promoted from the youth team job at the age of just 31.

This wasn’t the best start for Abascal, because his team was 2-0 down within 22 minutes, as Simone Padoin scored an own goal before Simone Palombi doubled the advantage.

Leonardo Morosini pulled one back for the hosts, but another Ascoli own goal from substitute Cristian Andreoni sealed their fate.
