The 2-0 win at the Stadio Dall’Ara keeps Juve top of the Serie A table and is a definitive step up from the disappointing performances in the Coppa Italia against Milan and Napoli.

“This was a fundamental match, there’s no denying it, as we had to give a response to ourselves. If we are the team we saw tonight, then we’ll achieve great things,” Bonucci told Sky Sport Italia.

There had been reports of tension within the group and with coach Maurizio Sarri this week.

“A squad like ours has to be made up of great men even more than great players. This is the path forward, the one of sacrifice, humility, the desire to bring home the result at all costs.

“I think too much was said outside our dressing room. We had to respond with actions, not words. We talked to each other, as we always have done at Juventus over the years, and we set out a plan with the path going forward. We saw that tonight.”
