Udinese coach Luca Gotti was distraught after a 1-0 defeat to Torino, especially as Rolando Mandragora has a serious knee injury. ‘It irritates me to have zero points.’
The Friulani were beaten by an Andrea Belotti strike after 16 minutes, but then spent the rest of the game pouring forward without success.
“It irritates me to have zero points after a game like that,” Gotti told Sky Sport Italia.
“After 15-16 attempts on goal and so many corners. I hope that we continue to produce this many chances, even if have to start converting them. Torino had so few and yet did well to score.
“We’ve got to improve our focus in front of goal and be more determined. We are trying to keep positive and work on these issues.”
There was another devastating blow to Udinese, as midfielder Mandragora was carried off the field in tears after landing heavily on his knee.
“We are shaken up, because it looks to be quite serious. I would hope it wasn’t the cruciate ligament, but it seems as if that is what’s happened.”
