Torino President Urbano Cairo insists he has no reason to sell striker Andrea Belotti. “Why should I? I’ve rejected big money for him.”

Cairo famously slapped a €100m asking price on Belotti after his 28-goal return in 2016-17, which put off interested suitors.

The 26-year-old is again being linked with moves away this summer, but Cairo is standing by his valuation of the player.

“I’m not selling him, why should I?” he told Rai Radio.

“I’m not selling him, why should I?” he told Rai Radio.

“He’s also a very good striker for the Italy team, so I’m keeping hold of him. I’ve rejected big money for him and I haven’t regretted it at all.

“No-one ever came up with €100m, otherwise I would’ve been forced to sell him, but I don’t want to get into figures: he isn’t for sale.”

Belotti has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, including 10 in Serie A.
