Juventus U23 win Coppa Italia

The Juventus U23 team has won its first trophy, beating Ternana 2-1 to lift the Coppa Italia Serie C under coach Fabio Pecchia.

Since the rules were changed last year to allow Italian clubs to register their B-Teams for the third division, only Juventus have taken up that option.

Their side has struggled in Serie C, but made it all the way to win the Coppa Italia Serie C this evening.

Ternana had gone in front with a Carlo Mammarella free kick, but the Bianconeri turned it around through a Matteo Luigi Brunori penalty and Hamza Rafia strike before half-time.

This is an historic moment, as it’s the first time an U23 team has won the Coppa Italia Serie C.
