Agent Mario Giuffredi confirms Mario Rui and Giovanni Di Lorenzo have agreed contract extensions, but for Elseid Hysaj ‘it’s not an economic problem’ causing the hold-up.
The representative spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss this evening and covered several different players under his guidance.
“We had the meeting on Thursday, both for Rui and Di Lorenzo. There are some details to be sorted out, but basically we have reached an agreement to extend the contracts of these two players,” said Giuffredi.
However, the situation for another Napoli player, Albania international full-back Hysaj, is still up in the air.
“I met with President Aurelio De Laurentiis on Thursday and he wants Hysaj to remain at all costs, as does Gennaro Gattuso. It’s not an economic problem, the player wants to be fully convinced that he should stay and he needs time to make that decision.
“If he makes that decision, then it’s right that he signs the contract. If he still has a few doubts and is traumatised from the Carlo Ancelotti tenure, then it’s right for him to cut the umbilical cord and walk away.
“He has rediscovered some of the joy he felt under the Maurizio Sarri era now that Gattuso has taken over. There are many clubs interested in Elseid, as I challenge anyone to find many 26-year-old fullbacks with his experience, both in Serie A and the Champions League.”
