Juventus tried to offer Aaron Ramsey in a straight swap with Tanguy Ndombele, claims the Daily Telegraph, but Tottenham Hotspur turned them down.

The approach was made after the Bianconeri signed Arthur Melo from Barcelona in exchange for Miralem Pjanic and €12m in cash, plus bonuses.

Ndombele only became the record Spurs signing at €60m from Olympique Lyonnais last year, but has struggled for playing time, particularly under Jose Mourinho.

Nonetheless, Tottenham refused to part with the 23-year-old, who contributed two goals and four assists in 28 games this season.

It’s suggested one of the reasons was the high salary that Ramsey currently commands in Turin.

Ndombele already has six senior caps for France under his belt and is under contract in London until June 2025.
