Veteran Italian coach Gianni De Biasi has been confirmed as the new CT of Azerbaijan.
The role is De Biasi’s first since leaving Spanish side Alaves in September 2017.
ANSA reports he has signed a two-year contract with the Azeri FA, taking him through qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
He will be assisted by former Napoli pair Benito Carbone and Claudio Bellucci.
De Biasi has coached extensively in his homeland, working for SPAL, Brescia, Torino and Udinese among others.

His first game for Azerbaijan falls on September 5, against Luxembourg in Nations League Group C.
