Juventus need three more points to win the Scudetto, but a series of results interconnected could give them the title before they even play Sampdoria on Sunday.

The Bianconeri would’ve clinched the title on Thursday evening with a win away to Udinese, and had taken the lead through Matthijs de Ligt, but eventually lost 2-1 to Ilija Nestorovski and Seko Fofana goals.

That means if Atalanta beat Milan this evening, the gap will momentarily be just three points.

However, Maurizio Sarri can still secure the Serie A crown with just three more points in the remaining three rounds.

There is even a scenario where Juventus could start celebrating in the team hotel before even setting foot on to the pitch with Sampdoria on Sunday.

If Atalanta lose to Milan, while both Inter and Lazio fail to win their games against Genoa and Verona respectively, then Juventus will be mathematically champions regardless.

This is because Juve have a superior head-to-head record with all the other teams in the top four, so if they finish level on points, the Bianconeri will get the upper hand.

Nonetheless, considering the Old Lady could win the Scudetto for the ninth year in a row, the fact Serie A reaches the final three rounds with four teams who could mathematically still win the title is an unusual situation.

After 35 rounds played, Juventus have 80 points, Atalanta 74, Inter 73 and Lazio 72.
