Getafe coach Jose Bordalas inevitably felt regret at the missed penalty after a 2-0 Europa League defeat to Inter. ‘It would’ve been a very different game.’
The Spaniards fielded a 4-5-1 formation and started strong with their ferocious pressing game, but Romelu Lukaku and Christian Eriksen goals sealed the 2-0 victory.
When Getafe had the opportunity to equalise from the spot, Jorge Molina fired his penalty wide of the target.
“It’s a pity, as the performance was extraordinary and I am truly proud of my lads,” said Bordalas in his press conference.
“Nobody must blame Molina, these things happen in football and penalties are always a risk. If that spot-kick had gone in, then obviously it would’ve been a very different game.
“That’s football, but we didn’t deserve this ending to the season.”
