Milan and Fiorentina are reportedly negotiating an exchange of loans with option to buy between Lucas Paqueta and Nikola Milenkovic.

The Brazilian midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at San Siro and is not part of coach Stefano Pioli’s plans for the future.

Making back the €38m plus bonuses spent to sign Paqueta from Flamengo in January 2019 is impossible right now.

The idea, according to Sport Mediaset, is therefore to send him out for regular playing time at Fiorentina.

It’d be a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.

In exchange, Milan would bring in centre-back Milenkovic, specifically requested as a reinforcement by ex-Viola coach Pioli.

Milenkovic is only under contract with Fiorentina until June 2022 and does not seem intent on an extension.

The 22-year-old has also been repeatedly linked with Napoli.
