D’Aversa had been a key figure in the rebirth of Parma, taking the club to back-to-back promotions from Serie C in December 2016 to the top flight, then securing their safety for another two seasons.

It’s widely reported that Liverani will be the new Parma coach, having just been fired by Lecce following their relegation on the final day of the campaign.

Sportitalia are also confident that D’Aversa will end up taking the Genoa job, signing a two-year contract at Marassi.
