Torino President Urbano Cairo said Andrea Belotti is not for sale and hopes to put coach Marco Giampaolo ‘in a position to do his best work’.

The Italy international has been linked with a move away from the Stadio Grande Torino, but patron Cairo insists the target man is not up for grabs.

“We’ll keep Belotti. It’s not up for discussion,” he told La Stampa.

But Cairo admitted that Armando Izzo could be on his way and maintains Torino will replace whoever leaves.

“Let’s see, to be honest, he has many requests. If someone leaves, we will know how to replace them.

“In the meantime, we are working on signing a playmaker to sit in front of the defence.”

Cairo didn’t want to set a target for 2020-21, but wants to give Giampaolo the tools to succeed in Turin.

“It’s too early to talk about the goals, but it’s certainly not salvation,” he added. “Let’s put Giampaolo in a position to do his best work, then we’ll see.”
