Sportmediaset claim that Milan are making a genuine approach to sign Fiorentina star Federico Chiesa this summer.

It’s going to be incredibly difficult, considering the Viola want circa €70m for the attacking wide man, and are not prepared to accept player exchanges.

Nonetheless, interest from other clubs has waned significantly over the last few months, with Inter, Juventus and Manchester United focusing on other targets.

It was also reported last week that Chiesa had rejected the latest contract extension proposal from Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso.

Milan are ramping up their ambitions and do have an advantage, in that coach Stefano Pioli worked with Chiesa in Florence, where they became very close.

They are building an impressive squad with Sandro Tonali from Brescia, while Brahim Diaz is expected to arrive on loan from Real Madrid.
