Cagliari defender Gabriele Zappa reveals Maicon is his role model and insists he is not thinking about a possible return to Inter.
The 20-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch in Cagliari’s 3-2 win away at Torino.
“We did well in the first half. [Naithan] Nandez and I moved without the ball and created numerical superiority,” he told Sky Sport after the final whistle.
“We were good in the first half, in the second half they crushed us a little more but it’s normal.
A product of Inter academy, Zappa joined Cagliari on loan with option to buy from Pescara in the summer.
I had this opportunity to go to Pescara [one year ago] to play with senior players. My agent Beppe Riso and I decided that it was the right thing to do.”
”Maicon is my model,” he said adding that he is not thinking of a return to Inter.
“I’m a Cagliari player and I think about Cagliari, I don’t care about the rest. I never met Maicon but I always liked him as a player.”
