Mattia Perin was the first player to caught the virus at Genoa but he recovered and started in goal.

The Juventus loanee had to face a tough tackle of Andrea Favilli who tried to steal the ball from his feet inside the penalty area but the goalkeeper somehow managed to clear the area.

Verona had a good start but Genoa always seemed dangerous with counter attacks.

The hosts stung Perin’s gloves a couple of times but Genoa had their best chance of the opening 45 minutes with Goran Pandev who forced Marco Silvestri to concede a corner kick.

Ebrima Colley came close to scoring one minute later but his effort was palmed wide by Perin who also tipped over the bar a header of Favilli minutes before the half time whistle.
