Roberto De Zerbi admits Sassuolo felt ‘a little bit of pressure’ during their 3-3 draw with Torino, but proved once again ‘we never give in.’
The Neroverdi fought back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Toro on Friday evening, just days after they came from 3-1 to beat Bologna 4-3.
It means they have picked up five points from trailing situations in just five Serie A rounds.
“There are some positive aspects and some other things that we need to sort out, as we aren’t sharp enough and I said the same thing after Bologna,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.
“We never give in and that character means we believe in ourselves and each other. We felt a little bit of pressure going into this round, as a win would’ve put us in first place, and I was concerned that might happen. Shaking off anxiety is a step that’s necessary for a side like ours that wants to dream.”
The coach concedes Sassuolo struggle against teams who try to defend and counter against his possession-based style.
“The quality of the passing becomes decisive, especially when we are up against opponents who plan to allow us more possession. It’s all about the details.”
