“There are some positive aspects and some other things that we need to sort out, as we aren’t sharp enough and I said the same thing after Bologna,” De Zerbi told Sky Sport Italia.

“We never give in and that character means we believe in ourselves and each other. We felt a little bit of pressure going into this round, as a win would’ve put us in first place, and I was concerned that might happen. Shaking off anxiety is a step that’s necessary for a side like ours that wants to dream.”

The coach concedes Sassuolo struggle against teams who try to defend and counter against his possession-based style.

“The quality of the passing becomes decisive, especially when we are up against opponents who plan to allow us more possession. It’s all about the details.”
