FIGC investigates Lazio

The FIGC Prosecutor’s Office has reportedly opened an investigation into Lazio and possible violations of the health protocols made by the Aquile.

ANSA reveals the Biancocelesti, who are preparing for the Champions League match against Zenit St Petersburg, are being investigated after a chaotic period at Centro Sportivo di Formello.

The investigation aims to verify the procedural correctness of the COVID swabs performed in recent days by the club and carried out by its players and members of staff.

Lazio have travelled to Russia without key players like Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto, Lucas Leiva, Thomas Strakosha and Manuel Lazzarri.

Il Messaggero reports UEFA stopped Immobile, Lucas Leiva and Strakosha from playing against Zenit tomorrow, having already kept the three players out of last week’s match against Bruges.

The Biancocelesti deemed the tests ‘false positives’ and stressed the swabs carried out 48 hours before the match against Torino last weekend revealed no anomalies.
