Two months after the Amadou Diawara case in Hellas VeronaRoma, Pantaleo Longo has officially joined Hellas as their new head of operations.

Longo resigned from Roma after the first official Serie A game of the season which saw the Gialloblu win 3-0 by default as Amadou Diawara was irregularly registered in the U-22 list of players despite turning 23 in July.

The game finished with a goalless stalemate, but Roma were handed a defeat by default.

Longo, who was serving as Roma’s secretary general at the time, took full responsibility for the mistake and resigned days after the game.

Ironically, he has not completed his move to Verona where he will be the club’s head of operations.

Verona have confirmed Longo’s appointment with an official announcement.
