Cesc Fabregas believes José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are ‘similar’ and reveals he spoke to Milan and Napoli before joining Monaco.
The Spanish midfielder has been coached by both Mourinho and Guardiola and believes they are similar.
“They all think they are the opposite to each other, truth is they only play a different kind of football.
“For the way the live football, they are absolutely similar,” the former Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder told Tuttosport.

“They have marked an era, they are among the best coaches of the last 20 years together with [Jurgen] Klopp, [Arsene] Wenger, [Sir Alex] Ferguson, [Marcello] Lippi and [Carlo] Ancelotti.”
The 33-year-old could have played in Serie A.
“I was close to three of four clubs before I joined Monaco. I spoke to [Carlo] Ancelotti when he was at Napoli and with [Ivan] Gazidis when he moved to Milan. In the end I opted to join Monaco.”
