Milan were enjoying a three-goal lead at half time but Liverpool turned the final around with three goals in the space of six minutes in the second half.

“It’s clearly the worst memory of my years at Milan,” Tomasson told Tuttomercatoweb.

“When I scored the penalty kick I thought we would win it but a few minutes later it all evanished.

“We were devastated by that defeat, I’ve never had the courage to watch the game again and I will never do it.”

Tomasson won five trophies with Milan, including one Champions League in the 2002-03 campaign and a Serie A title in 2003-04.
