Andrea Petagna insists ‘we’d be talking about a different game’ without Wojciech Szczesny’s incredible saves for Juventus, but Lorenzo Insigne is distraught after missing the Napoli penalty.

The Bianconeri won the Supercoppa 2-0 in Reggio Emilia this evening.

“It was a game decided by incidents. We had the chances with Chucky Lozano, Szczesny did really well, then Ronaldo was lucky on his goal. As for the penalty, these things can happen,” Petagna told RAI Sport.

“We tried to give our all, Juve were strong, we mustn’t let our heads drop. We need to remember we too are a strong team and keep going.”

Napoli had the chance to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo’s opener, but Insigne fired a penalty wide, then Alvaro Morata got the second on the counter.

“It’s disappointing for him, especially as he is Neapolitan, and against Juventus, but he is our leader and he along with Kalidou Koulibaly will lead us to trophies in future.

“In games when we lost so far this season, our performances have always been good and we didn’t deserve to lose. Szczesny made some very good saves, and if the ball had gone in either of those times, we would be talking about a very different game.

“We need to keep following the coach, as we are on the right track.”
