Lautaro Martinez has reportedly lowered his salary demands to stay at Inter, and is close to reaching an agreement with the Nerazzurri at €5m a season.
The Argentine’s representatives reportedly met with the Nerazzurri to discuss a new contract for the former Barcelona target.
Il Corriere dello Sport reveals the new deal will extend his stay with one year, until June 2024, with the €111m release clause.
But Lautaro will reportedly accept a salary of €5m a season, compared to the initial request of €7m, according to the newspaper.
Barcelona had offered him twice as much last season, but the scenario has completely changed, and the striker reportedly prefers not to be placed in the same wage category as the top earners like Romelu Lukaku, Christian Eriksen and Alexis Sanchez.
The newspaper reports this could be seen as a demonstration of commitment to the Beneamata, as the 23-year-old has plenty of time to get there
