Spezia currently have a 10-point gap down to Parma, who are 19th in Serie A, and could further strengthen their position in the race for salvation.

But the coach believes his men must be as concentrated as always when they host Roberto D’Aversa’s men on Saturday.

“We don’t think this is a match to prepare for with a lot of pressure,” Italiano said at a press conference. “We prepared for it like we do with all the other games.

“Nothing changes, except for trying to do better than we did against Fiorentina, where we were not up to par in the second half.”

The coach said Spezia aim to bounce back immediately and make up for the lost points against the Viola.

“We have to make up for that second half,” he continued. “Our goal is to not make mistakes and put down a good performance.

“If you are not playing with the same concentration, attention and desire in every game, you will struggle against anyone.

“It’s a match that’s worth a lot and Spezia must go on the pitch to try to play a good match because if you don’t, the results won’t come.”

Spezia are currently 16th in Serie A and Italiano stressed they have a long way to go.

“There are still 15 games left, I think there are still a lot of points available,” he said. “We will try to play as we have always done, knowing that it’s an important game.”
