Adriano Galliani has raised hopes of Antonio Cassano returning to action before the end of the season.

Taking part in a live question and answer session with supporters via Milan’s official Twitter account, the Vice-President responded positively when asked for an update on Cassano’s condition.

The Italian attacker has been out of action since suffering a mini stroke in late October and requiring surgery on a rare heart condition. The Bari-born player has returned to the club’s training centre to continue his recovery, to which Galliani alluded is going well.

“Cassano is well and I hope for some pleasant news shortly,” Galliani tweeted in response to the question, before also being asked about Alexandre Pato’s on-going issues with physical fitness.

“Pato had no accidents in the first two years [with Milan] but has had many in the following two. We need to understand why.”
