Torino midfielder Tomas Rincon admits he was initial greeted with ‘suspicion’ after joining from Juventus, but managed to ‘find a way into the hearts of Granata fans.’

The Derby della Mole is on Saturday and Rincon is one of the few players to have worn both Granata and Bianconeri jerseys.

“I ask our fans to have patience. We know how important the game is, especially considering our place in the table, and we must try to get back to picking up points in a very exciting encounter,” Rincon said during an event in Turin.

“I ask our fans to have patience. We know how important the game is, especially considering our place in the table, and we must try to get back to picking up points in a very exciting encounter,” Rincon said during an event in Turin.

“Am I worried? No, other things in life are frightening, a football match can never be scary. What we have is the desire to play and beat an important opponent.

“Our job is to always be motivated, but I will admit that playing in a packed stadium gives you something extra. Football without a crowd is not the game we all love, but we must be patient too, and the priority right now is public health.”

Venezuela international Rincon moved from Genoa to Juventus in January 2017, then over to Torino just seven months later.

“It was not easy to make that move, because people looked at me with suspicion, but with hard work and discipline, I managed to find my way into the hearts of the Granata fans.

“My teammates and the club also gave me a big hand in adapting to this new environment.”
