Napoli are reportedly the favourites ahead of Milan to sign Erik Lamela from Tottenham Hotspur, but he’d need to halve his wages.
According to Calciomercato.com, Lamela is enthusiastic about the idea of a return to Serie A and above all to Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
It’s reported the former Roma man has been in negotiations over the last few days and would be available for just €5-10m, as his contract with Spurs is due to expire in June 2022.
In order to get more regular playing time, Lamela would have to make a sacrifice, practically halving the current €4.8m per year salary he earns at Spurs.
Although he hit headlines with his magnificent rabona goal against Arsenal, that was also Lamela’s only Premier League strike of the season, one of four in all competition.
